Welcome to Davie
The unique charm of Davie is its opulent rural lifestyle.
Davie is a 35-square-mile town in Broward County, FL that maintains a southern, rural vibe, despite the steady growth of its local population in recent years. Its lush and sprawling natural surroundings offer a welcome contrast and complement to the bustling major urban centers like Fort Lauderdale off its eastern boundary and Miami further south.
Davie was originally settled in 1909 as a swamp-covered area known as “Zona.” Through the efforts of Robert Parsell Davie, assisting then-Florida governor Napoleon Bonaparte Broward to drain the swampland, the location became more suitable for settlement and further development. In 1916, the area was renamed in honor of Davie.
Today, Davie is Florida’s most populous town, with roughly 102,000 residents.
